The World of Warcraft Extreme Warlock Leveling Guide: Level Up from 1-60 in 8-24 Hours, Level 80 in 36 Hours

Need a jump start for leveling your warlock? Stuck in slow motion or just plain fed up? My Free Warlock leveling guide will show you how to get triple experience, how to double your damage per second, which addons to use and how to quest without tears.

First off, old school leveling sucks because it is slow and tedious. Leveling moves fastest if you use the (Recruit-A-Friend) program and Dual box your two characters. Recruit A Friend gives a straight up triple experience point gain for both mob kills and quest turn ins and the ability to summon the other character once an hour. Also, if you use the Recruit A Friend program you will get a free Zhevra Epic Mount and earn levels that you can grant to the characters on your main account. Having leveled up multiple level 70 characters the old way, I would never go back, Recruit A Friend is where it's at. Also, if you decide you don't like your warlock or want a healer instead, you can give levels to a new character later.

Dual or Multi Boxing adds the icing on the cake to Recruit A Friend. Your alternative character or alt is always at your side adding extra damage and helping you earn triple experience. Dual boxing is allowed under World of Warcraft's end user licensing agreement and this has been verified many times on the World of Warcraft forums. To make dual boxing easier, consider using a program called Keyclone. Keyclone is a 3rd party program and like dual boxing it has been discussed over and over again on the WOW forums and is an acceptable program. It's not considered illegal because all it does is send your key press to the other World of Warcraft window. To see what Keyclone does watch this video on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/v/-Ev7wuPSkl0

OK, assuming you have your two warlocks Recruit A Friend linked and set up for Dual boxing, the next step is to set them up with macros so they will be ready to level. Make sure you have Keyclone set up to only push hotstrings to the other client, for instructions see the Keyclone website.

Macros

Macros simplify your gameplay and are helpful, especially if you are multiboxing. If you have never used macros before refer to Cogwheel's Complete Macro Guide on the Official Blizzard Forums for a quick guide. Basically, all you need to do to make a macro is to go to the main menu, bring up the macro menu. Select an icon for the macro and give it a name, next enter the macro into the text box below, then put the icon on your actionbar.

Macro #1

This will cause your Alt to target what your main character is targeting and to cast corruption on it, when you press the key a second time, your alt will cast the next spell, curse of agony. This is a simple macro that can be used in many ways to set up custom spell rotations and save valuable space on your action bar.

/Assist (name of main character)

/cast sequence reset =2 Corruption (Rank 1), Curse of Agony (Rank 1)

As your main character casts spells, the Alt will cycle through their spells. Try to keep spells with the same casting time on the same keys to keep things simple and to maximize damage to your targets. Note, pets now attack automatically but you may wish to send your void walker in first and wait until it casts Torment so that you won't take any damage during the fight.

Recommended Casting Sequence for Mana Efficiency:

Main.........................................Alt

1 Corruption/COA.................1 Macro #1 to get main's target

2 Life Tap................................Life Tap

3 Drain Life............................Drain Life

4 Shadow Bolt......................Shadow Bolt

5 Drain Soul..........................Drain Soul

Macro #2

Macro #2 is simply to help you keep your sanity and your other character following you, when you press the key, your alt will turn around and follow you. I recomend that you set your alt's key binds for this macro to the same key that your main character uses to move forward; this way your other character will begin following you whenever you take a step.

/Follow (name)

/Assist (name)

Macro #3

This macro will make your alt accept groups, quests, trades and release automatically.

/script AcceptGroup();

/script AcceptQuest();

/script AcceptTrade();

/script RetrieveCorpse();

AddOns:

The Best addons for this method of leveling is Carbonite. Carbonite keeps track of all of your quests and shows you where to go in order to complete them in game. This addons is now free, perfectly legal to use in World of Warcraft and not to be confused with 3rd party autobot programs. When an addon is just modifying your interface or providing information and not automating the game, generally it is safe to use it with World of Warcraft. If you have any doubts about this there is an official Blizzard forum just for addons and macros that you can go to and ask questions and you can also ask a gamemaster ingame if you have any lingering doubts.

Cartographer, Automation and and MobMap are available on Curse.com MobMap is available through the developer's website at MobMap.de Both of these programs are good alternatives for Carbonite. Questhelper was once the add on of choice but was discontinued after Blizzard announced changes to it's policies about how developers can request donations. The Automation add on is great for dual boxers because it can be set up so that your alt will automatically accept group invites, summons, sell things, repair their gear and generally be less of a nuisance.

Leveling Builds

You should go with an Affliction talent build so that you can remain mana efficient and drain tank. Drain tanking means that you will use Life Tap to keep your mana full and then use Drain Life and Siphon Life to restore your hit points. Even if a mob attacks you, if you have Fel Concentration talent you will be able to still get your hit points back. Select talents first which make your spells uninterruptable or enhance the amount of life drained by your spells.

Talents:

3/3 Suppression, 5/5 Improved Corruption, 2/2 Improved Life Tap, 2/2 Soul Siphon, 2/2 Drain Soul, 3/3 Fel Concentration, 2/2 Nightfall, 3/3 Empowered Corruption, 2/2 Grim Reach, 1/1 Siphon Life, 5/5 Shadow Mastery, 1/1 Dark Pact

When you are level 50 or so:

When you are high enough level to have 41 points in your talent tree, consider reconfiguring your talents and making both warlocks demonology so you will have two felguards. Felguards are great for leveling, they immediately run in, stun the enemy and cleave them into tiny bits. With a demonology build you benefit because you will have a strong pet to tank and damage per second (DPS). Even if you run out of mana you will still have powerful pets bashing down mobs for you. With a demonologist in your group it's like you having four characters instead of two, helping you to blaze through your levels with wicked warlock speed.

Leveling Process

Alright, now you're set up and ready to level! If you have someone who will run you through instances, just do that and the triple experience points will get your characters up to level 60 in about 8 hours. If you don't have a friend, relative or guild member you can wrangle into running you through all these instances you will have to quest, which will take you a bit longer but will also yield nice rewards and achievements for your new characters.

Damn good quest/zone guides:

Jame's Leveling Guide - I love Jame's guides because he tells you in a logical way how to plan what your doing in each zone to minimize the time you have to spend leveling and what items to pick up before you leave town. Jame keeps his guides updated and I have used his website for years. Jame even has a new addon that you can use in game. Jame's guide is free, has a community that tests and supports it and has detailed information on how to complete the harder quests. I am so crazy about Jame's guides that I will not attempt to reinvent the wheel, just use his site if you need help with questing.
