Faces of Transformation is a new humanitarian web-based reality program by the global organization Nations United. Our mission is to provide exposure and awareness to humanitarian and developmental causes through social media, networking, events, and programs.
Nations United put a call out for people to nominate inspiring humanitarians worldwide. With over 4500 nominations a committee then chose 11 participants; Canada, Ghana, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Lebanon, Nepal, Spain, Tunisia, and USA. Each participant is working on a humanitarian or developmental project in diverse areas such as refugees, education, bullying, health, sustainable environment, tourism, and social media.
Nations United then gives the participants challenges each month. The participants will educate the public about the humanitarian projects they are working on by sharing articles, uploading photos and videos of their challenges, and sharing their experience of operating a project. It is a platform for the public to learn, discuss and teach about the journey of every project: From Thought to Reality.
The Nations United team and a guest judge will select three participants each month to enter the Red Zone where the public votes for one participant to continue their journey to become the next Face of Nations United, a one year position the winner will maintain within the organization while implementing the project they worked on during the contest.
Chaker Khazaal, founder of Nations United and whose facebook page has gained 50,000 fans in the last few months, describes the program as a "trendy and new form of global aid and unity". The program is based on the integration of social trends, social media and social networks: a moving message through video, raising awareness and a contest that brings nations together.
Each month, short web-isodes are posted on the organization's different social media outlets reaching an audience of over 100,000 people established through the last two years of operation. The web-isodes feature Nations United co-founder Christian Paré who will mentor the participants, "IT guy" Perry Toone ,who designed and manages the website of the organization and Laila Maiden, award winning public relations manager and host of the Red Zone each month.
Faces of Transformation is an example of today's utilization to the resources our nations are given to actually create unity and peace and bring us all together. Watch the introduction to the program on Youtube at: http://youtu.be/bWQExDCdbTw
