The World's Precious Gift

A.M. Morgan
I wish for more of you,

So I separate myself from the present.

Losing my grip on reality,

I lose more of you than I expected.

The seasons continue to change

But you move forward without looking back.

You often leave me behind,

To capture your significance after the affect.

I often travel aimlessly chasing suspense,

But I forget that you won't always know of my intent.

I have a deep admiration for you

But for me you possess only a slight affection.

I often ask myself, "What can I do to get your attention?"

This question is left unanswered so I continue to pursue more of you

And to my dismay I am only rejected.

I am fascinated by every hour, second and minute I spend with you

I take you for granted so now I must appreciate you

The world's most precious gift is

"Time"

I'll never have more of it

So I shouldn't let it just slip away from me.

"You often leave me behind, To capture your significance after the affect. " Oh how I can relate! I agree with D.A. Ashton that this is a very clever piece. Well done Lady!

Now that I'm in my fifth decade of life, I appreciate the time we have . . . ejoying every minute of it . . . making sure to take the time to love and appreciate all the beauty that surrounds us.

Very clever writing. I was told this weekend that time management is waste; as we can never control or regulate "time;" however, we can create priorities within our lives; so we optimize what little time we have. Good piece.
