The Worst Celebrity Fashion Lines

Eleanthe Anderson
Celebrities love fashion. Unfortunately, they often think that wearing great fashion designs qualifies them to become a fashion designer themselves. Forget talent and hard earned experience or education. Celebrities just pay people to help them create their own fashion lines. Unfortunately, wearing clothes and having money are not enough to achieve success in the fashion industry. Here is a look at some of the worst celebrity fashion lines that have been created in recent memory, and why they are so appalling.

The Worst Celebrity Fashion Lines: 6126 by Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan focused her celebrity fashion line on leggings. While the line initially received praise, a look at the exclusive retailer of her merchandise, www.shopintuition.com, reveals that the leggings, that started at $78.00 each, are now selling for $14.99. The overpriced celebrity leggings were available in solids and animal prints. No matter what the critics say, I am not sure what kind of girl would buy leggings with built in knee pads.

The Worst Celebrity Fashion Lines: Mischa Barton by Mischa Barton

Mischa Barton's first disastrous celebrity line was just headbands. Gaudy and overpriced headbands. She has now come out with a line of handbags, which are being sold at www.mischabartonhandbags.com. My eye for fashion may not be as sophisticated as that of a celebrity fashion designer, but the handbags look just like every other handbag that you can find. There is nothing unique or even trendy about them. The website prices things in pounds, so maybe she is trying to make a fresh start in the U.K. I don't think that a celebrity who made ads for Keds can ever be taken seriously in fashion design.

The Worst Celebrity Fashion Lines: Paris Hilton by Paris Hilton

I saved the worst for last. You know who it is. Paris Hilton by Paris Hilton. Are you surprised to learn that it is a lot of metallics, and includes screen printed shirts with Paris Hilton's face on them? If you want more of this dubiously titled celebrity, you can also buy her perfume, which features Hilton dressed as a fairy on the box. The line was designed to be sold at Kitson, a celebrity fashion haven in Los Angeles, where celebrities gather and shut down the store for their own private shopping extravaganzas.

Sorry if anyone has taken offense, but fashion design is a combination of talent and skill in clothing design and manufacturing. Being a celebrity does not bring you either of those automatically. At least we are being entertained, which is the real job of celebrities. Too bad it is watching them go down as some of the worst fashion designers in history.

Great best of - worst of set. Sometimes fashion is just over-rated.
