The Dell Venue Pro WP7 smartphone is known for having great features like a slider QWERTY keyboard, Windows Phone 7, and a host of other great features, but while the Dell Venue Pro might be one of the hottest smartphones out, it still has a few flaws.
Camera Quality
Modern smartphones are quickly becoming consumer's go-to camera and will likely replace digital cameras in the near future. With modern camera phones being as advanced as 8, 10, and even 12 megapixels with 1080p HD video capturing, the camera packed into the Dell Venue Pro might come as a disappointment to some. The Dell Venue Pro features a standard 5 megapixel camera, and while it can still take decent pictures, its closest competitors have it beat in the camera department.
Battery Life
Battery life is important for any gadget, but is extremely important for smartphones. No one leaves home without their "old trusty" smartphone an no matter how great your phone is, a poor battery can really spoil the fun. The Dell Venue Pro has an advertised 7 hours of maximum talk time, which sounds like a pretty decent amount of battery life, but during use, users have reported as low as 4 hours of battery life '" which just won't do.
Poor Speakers
Smartphone speakers are a feature that most smartphone users underappreciate, but when done wrong, this feature can stick out like a sore thumb. The speakers of the Dell Venue Pro don't fair too well and can be a real bummer for those that prefer to listen to music without headphones, play games, use apps that require sound, or like to take advantage of a smartphone's speakerphone for hands-free chatting.
Bulk
While it's great that the Dell Venue Pro has lots of great features and a slider QWERTY keyboard for easier typing, the QWERTY keyboard of the Dell Venue Pro comes at a less than ideal price; a bulky smartphone. The size and feel of the Venue Pro is a bit clunky and bulky and at 6.8oz, it's also a little overweight. Being that smartphone users are known to carry around their phones all day, it's a bummer that this smartphone is a bit "hulk-like" and it's weight is one of the biggest features holding this phone back.
