The Worst Movies of 2007

A Month by Month Guide of the Most Disappointing Movies of 2007

Jennifer Habersham
Well the year is almost over, only four more months left to go. And so far this year has been slightly disappointing as far as film enjoyment go. Now I know that it had been a record braking year for the box office but that doesn't mean that the films were all that great. I get tired of being stoked to see a movie and leave the theater disappointed and 40 dollars lighter. Here is my list of the top 2007 movies that didn't live up to the hype.

January
I was so excited to see Epic Movie. I love spoofs. What a disappointment this was, one lame joke after another. Where's my generation's Airplane?

February
Ghost Rider is based on a pretty cool comic, or so I hear. The movie had great special effects and some seriously bad overacting and the worst dialogue I've heard since, well, Epic Movie.

March
How could I Think I Love My Wife be bad? It has Chris Rock, who in my household we still refer to as Pookie. But then I remembered Chris Rock can tell a joke but he sure as hell can't act.

March had another terrible movie that I just can't ignore, The Last Mimzy. I have two small children both under the age of ten so I see quite a few child friendly films. The Last Mimzy may be the worst movie of 2007. I cannot describe how stupid this movie is. The acting is terrible (because besides Dakota Fanning most kids can't act). The story is ridiculous and terribly contrived. But I was excited to see it because Rainn Wilson is in it and I am a diehard Office fan. But unfortunately Mr. Wilson could not save this craptacular craptacular film.

Blades of Glory was a terrible disappointment as well. I watched the previews and was duped into going to this movie. I thought "Will Ferrell good, that weird kid from Napoleon Dynamite good". This movie was so bad that I actually fell asleep halfway through. I have no idea how it ends and really don't care.

April
In the month of April I saw Next with Nicolas Cage. When will I learn? Nick Cage no longer makes good movies. Through the whole movie all I wanted to know was why did he have Tom Hanks hair from The Davinci Code in this film?

May
Now we are into the start of the Summer Blockbusters and how do I choose the worst movie of May? Well Spiderman 3 pretty much takes the cake for craptacular movies. I didn't like the first Spiderman but number two was pretty damn good. Unfortunatley Spiderman 3 was truly awful. Once again the acting was terrible (why do people still hire Kirsten Dunst?) and the story rather bland. And not once, not one time in my life, did I ever ask myself what Peter Parker would like dancing down the street. This movie was terrible absolutely terrible. I feel empty knowing that I can never get back the 2 hours plus I wasted in the theater.

June
In June there were actually some decent movies released unfortunately there was one absolutely horrific movie released as well. I may be alone here but I feel that Ratatouille imay be one of the worst movies of the past decade. It was boring and slow, and there is nothing cute about a rat cooking. If you've ever been to a restaurant in Hawaii you know exactly what I'm talking about.

July
Now I'm sure to take some flack over this but I thought the Simpson movie sucked. I've been a fan of the Simpson since it started almost twenty years ago. But the movie was slow and boring. There were very few laugh out loud moments and I really could have gone to my death bed without seeing Bart's twig and berries.

Hopefully next year the studios will release some better movies or at the very least maybe I just learn my lesson and be a little more discerning when it comes to the movies. After all, a great trailer does not always lead to a great movie.

The Worst Movies of 2007 - in your opinion.

    :)
I thought Ratatoullie was a cute kid's movie.

And the simpson's movie? It was a cartoon! It wasn't a porn. It was a two- second scene.

I agree with you on Spiderman 3. The acting was pretty horrible, except for Kristen Dunst's part. She's a very talented actress.

I enjoyed The Simpsons movie. I hated Ratatouille just as much as you did. Ratatouille made my top 10 worst films of 07. Check out my list of worst films when you get the chance.

Instead of going to the movies, I stay at home writing articles. My bank account looks a lot better.

Spiderman 3 was the summer's biggest dissapointment by far. I think you might going a little too hard on The Simpsons movie though. Otherwise, great article and you picked some very deserving movies that brought the crap on themselves.

Great info on the movies. Luckily I haven't seen any of them and sounds like that is a good thing.

A trailer usually has the best parts of the new movie coming out....we sit and wait for that part to show up and then it's like the rest is all a letdown.
