I want to write poetry,
but I don't want to be just a poet
Oh, there's nothing wrong with that, I'm sure
But I have strived for more
And more is what I still want
I want to be an essayist, a columnist,
A writer of every genre known to man
And maybe even create a new genre of my own
I want to be more than anything I've ever dreamed possible
I want to be a writer of the highest order
No form too hard for me to tackle
Or too much for me to bear
The mistress of the almighty word
And quintessential author extraordinaire
