"The X Factor" Delivers (Auditions No. 1) in a Strange, but Interesting Fashion

Fans have been anticipating the debut of Simon Cowell's "The X Factor." The music reality show has finally delivered it series premiere tonight. The TV show begins with auditions of the hopefuls performing for the judges in Los Angeles and Seattle.

The show is being deemed the show with "the largest prize in TV history." A recording contract with Sony that guarantees $5 million dollars!

The Judges:

"The X Factor" judges are Simon Cowell (the creator of the show), L.A. Reid, Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul, and Cheryl Cole (pop star). Steve Jones is the host and travels in an "X Factor" 18-wheeler who explains the age group as 12 and up, both solo or groups can audition.

L.A. Reid is responsible for the careers of Mariah Carey, Pink, Rhianna, Usher, and Justin Bieber.

The Show's Format:
After auditions the contestants get split into four categories, judges go in to battle mentoring one category each. They select who goes to the live shows to face fan votes. The final will air just before Christmas.

Very exciting to see the show's format is aired LIVE in (huge) real amphitheaters with thousands, and thousand of people able to watch, cheer, or possibly boo. Way bigger than "American Idol," on that level. On "AI" only the contestants are in audience and are they are always so quiet, which make auditions much more difficult to the performers.

The first person to audition was a young girl with a Christina Aguilera voice and even L.A. Reid was impressed. She was voted through with all four judges saying yes. It was actually very touching seeing her run to her mom and her mom cried. Very cute. Just goes to show that this show is going to leave an impact.

Some of the performance got out there and strangely enough they let a guy in who barely sang and jumped around doing gymnastic jumps and the splits. I was wondering where the gong was, hey, the "Gong Show" had one.....

The show is going to be strange, unpredictable, with a dash of talent scattered out here and there. I will continue watching to see where it goes.
