The year has been full of ups and downs
Like a ride on a rollercoaster
Nothing seems to stay the same for long
At times clouds wander in like lost travelers
To cover all the sunshine and happiness
In a thick cover of darkness

But at the end of the year, the darkness subsides
And the light appears once again
To make everything seem joyous once again
Fireworks explode and everyone celebrates the new year
For one moment, the whole world is at peace
And people are happy that the new decade has begun
