The cellphone is another modern technology gadget that has replaced the telephone that once may have hung on the walls of many senior citizens homes or sat on a desk. If you weren't at home to answer it, you missed the call. Today the cellphone is more then likely in a pocket or purse and we have instant access to it. It's not uncommon today to go into any type of public place, weather it's a restaurant, airport or even a movie theater and someone is talking on their cellphone. I'm not a fan of the cellphone for the fact I think it's very rude to be out with a friend and he or she is more interested in their cellphone conversation then conversing with the person who's sitting across from them. Instant access, now why would we ever want to be without it, may I ask?
Weather it's email, cellphones, Internet, digital cameras or any other form of modern technology, this just didn't even seem imaginable when many of us senior citizens were growing up. Now it's hard to imagine life without all of this technology. The impact it is has our daily lives is quite beneficial, for the most part. We have immediate access to almost anything we may need with all these modern technology devices. If any emergency should arise for a senior citizen, with the push of a button help could be on the way. We don't have to worry as much about our older family and friends if we know they are protected in part by modern technology devices. Now that's reason enough I must admit to be able to have access to all this modern technology. It's no longer just "the good old days" for the modern senior citizen. It's a whole new world out there that we now live in.
