The Young and the Restless: What Happened This Week?
Storyline Updates for Y&R Episodes During the Week of January 7, 2011
Daisy Makes Her Escape
Thanks to Jana's machinations, Daisy gets the opportunity to run for freedom and takes it. With Jana's car, a deactivated ankle monitor, and a baby about to pop out of her at any second, Daisy puts the pedal to the metal and waves goodbye to Genoa City Jail in her rearview mirror. Her labor pains prove to be too much for her, though, and she doesn't get far before having to pull over.
Daniel in Bad Shape
Daniel finds out Daisy is missing and goes looking for her. He finds her just in time to help her give birth to their baby daughter. He holds the baby tenderly, awed at the whole experience, but his new daddy moment is cut short when Daisy clunks him over the head and escapes again. He is later found and brought into the hospital, but remains out cold. Phyllis feels terrible that her last conversation with him was an argument, and Nick comforts her as she stands vigil at Daniel's bedside.
Billy Buys a Baby
Victoria receives the devastating news from her doctor that she can't have any more children and tells Billy. Billy, wanting to do anything he can to make Vikki happy again, talks to Rafe about adoption possibilities. Rafe reluctantly tells him that he knows of a way, but it could be expensive...
Meanwhile, after coldcocking Daniel, Daisy has a change of heart about raising her child on the run from the law and decides to drop her baby off at a church. The baby is quickly sold by the couple that finds her to a woman who arranges "expedited" adoptions. Guess Daisy and Daniel's baby might not make it out of Genoa City after all?
Jana Tries Again
Jana continues her persistent efforts to get Kevin back with a hastily-concocted plan to win his sympathies. After sending Daisy along with her car and her best wishes on a successful escape, she coshes herself over the head and staggers to where Kevin and Chloe are kissing their way into a brand-new relationship.
They take her to the hospital, where the doctor informs Kevin that Jana has apparently lost any knowledge she had of the past year. The doc believes it would be best for Jana's recovery if Kevin pretends that they are still married. Kevin reluctantly agrees, Jana does a happy dance inside at the success of her latest scheme, and Chloe is left a little confused.
Adam's Future Looks Bleak
Things aren't looking great for incarcerated Adam after the only way to prove he didn't kill Skye accidentally tumbles into a Hawaiian volcano before Sharon's bewildered eyes. Vance Abrams' high-powered law office decides to dump his case, since it appears to be a losing proposition, and Sharon's pleas for help in proving Adam's innocence fall on deaf and hostile ears. Will Adam be heading to jail for one of the only crimes in Genoa City's recent memory that he didn't commit?
Jack has Suspicions
The last thing Jack wants to do is help out Adam, but he has his suspicions about the whole situation. Then, Nick gives him a picture of Victor and Skye chatting it up in a Newman elevator, confirming Jack's suspicions that Victor is involved. As much as Jack would like to let Adam sit on his butt in jail, the pull of his old rivalry with The Mustache is even stronger, and decides to fly to Hawaii and find out if the staged murder was another one of Victor's intricate plots.
Cane's Secrets Slip
Cane has been juggling secrets, lies, and twice his workload for so long that it's not surprising that he's starting to crack. But instead of telling Lily everything that's going on, he confesses to Sofia, who is justifiably ticked off. Meanwhile, in other parts of Genoa City, Colin is eagerly trying to manipulate his way into seeing his grandchildren. Kay, having been suspicious of Colin from the get-go, has had him investigated by Paul, who finds out he was just released from prison.
Heather Outs Ronan
Ronan continues to struggle with his illness and confesses to Heather that he's not exactly the first guy on the organ transplant list - more like 17,001 - while Heather continues to try and badger Ronan into telling his family about his medical crisis. Heather finally decides to risk their new relationship and tell Nina what's going on, with the hope that someone in the family might be a matching donor and willing to step up and save Ronan's life.
