The ZBB seemed to really know their instruments and harmonized beautifully together.
By the end of the evening their song "Chicken Fried" was in my head and I couldn't wait to share this band with my friends and family. They also performed the song "Whatever It Is" which was also very catchy. Since their performance I've checked out their song "Toes" which is very Jimmy Buffett. I have not yet had a chance to catch the video of "Chicken Fried" which can be seen on CMT but I hope to very soon. The comments that I have read about the video have been very promising.
Sadly their albums release date has been rescheduled and they are not sure of the date yet. They are taking pre-orders on their website http://zacbrownband.shop.musictoday.com/Dept.aspx?cp=13357_14127 and if you pre-order the album you are able to get an immediate download of the album in MP3 format. The CD is listed at $11.99 which sounds like an amazing bargain based on the songs that I have listened to. Also on their main webpage http://www.zacbrownband.com you can find links to their Myspace & Facebook pages along with a link to videos of the band performing on You Tube. You can also find out about their touring schedule, which seems to be very full for the next several months. It looks like they will not be back in my area anytime soon. I don't think you'd be disappointed if you are able to get tickets to one of their performances.
The band has apparently been around for quite sometime and has played in many venues. Their best advertising campaign has definitely been word of mouth. According to their MySpace page the band has landed supporting slots with artists such as ZZ Top, Travis Tritt, Lynyrd Skynyrd, & The Allman Brothers Band just to name a few. The week of October 9th the song "Chicken Fried" had reached the top 15 on the USA Today Mediabase Country charts.
Since the night of their performance on the Opry I have talked non-stop about the band and have forwarded their website on to many relatives. If you're a country music fan, I guarantee you that this CD will soon be in your collection. (When it is released of course!)
The Foundation contains twelve songs including Toes, Chicken Fried, Whatever It Is, Free, Higway 20 ride, and a few others. This CD is not to be missed.
