The Zahra Baker Case: Search Warrants Released Offer Gruesome Details in the Girl's Death

This has got to be one of the worse crimes ever committed. Seriously.

As details of the search warrants used to find the remains in the Zahra Baker case come to light, there are horrifically gruesome details emerging about the 10 year old Australian cancer survivor's death. No murder charges have been filed as of right now, but someone needs to be held accountable for this girls death.

The Catawba County sheriff's department, in North Carolina where Zahra lived with her stepmother Elisa and her father Adam, had very specific details in their search warrants that are horrifying, based on information given to investigators from Elisa Baker's attorneys.

The documents reveal that Zahra Baker was in fact dismembered and her remains were disposed of in plastic and a car cover. Police were told to search the bathtub for blood and remains, and evidently the amount of blood recovered was astonishing. Her stained mattress was discovered in a landfill, and the remains in a field known to be an animal carcass dumping ground for local hunters. It is unclear what led the police to the locations where the prosthetic leg and remains were located. The documents suggest that Zahra's body was originally placed in a dumpster behind a local restaurant.

Zahra's hearing aids, which father Adam Baker referenced in his 911 call, were also found in Elisa Baker's jewelry box.

There was also what is believed to be a confidential informant that notified authorities Zahra may have been raped by two men before her death; believed to be sometime at the end of September. It was the first evidence uncovered that could suggest a possible third party in this scenario. Speculation has been abound when this news came out about the possibility that Zahra might have been even more horrifically abused than previously thought.

Adam Baker continues to be free on bond from an unrelated case, and Elisa Baker is still in jail on an obstruction of justice charge pertaining to this case and forging a ransom note in the beginning of Zahra's disappearance. Her attorney's had filed a motion to reduce her bond and free her from custody, but it is unclear whether or not the motion has been granted or even heard.

Poor little Zahra. As the details keep coming out, this poor girl that had already survived two bouts of cancer lived such a truly horrific existence. Yet in every bit of footage we have seen of the little girl, she seems so sweet, kind and loving. Shame on her father for loving a woman that mistreated Zahra, more than he loved her. It's mind boggling that he himself is not sitting in a jail cell right now since he seemed so complacent in the whole thing, and that 911 call where he's just talking like he's ordering takeout, joking about his pubescent adolescent withdrawing gives me chills.
