The Zerg Magic Box: New Technique Vs. "OP" Terran?

New Video Shows Zerg Strategy

The Zerg Magic Box is a new technique discovered by a user in a Youtube video to use vs. Terran, a race some players feel is "OP" or overpowered.

The Magic Box strategy sounds like an elaborate new plan but in reality it is just a simple Mutalisk strategy coined by PsyStarcraft in his Youtube video.

Here is a link to the video that demonstrates the new tips and technique for the Mutalisks to attack against the very powerful anti-air weapons of the Terran Thor.

Basically, the goal of the technique is to make it so the Mutalisks take less splash damage from the Thors which Terran often uses to blow up mass groups of Mutalisks that attack.

Zerg has limited options against Terran players in SC 2 so the Mutalisks must operate at peak efficiency in order to give the Zerg every chance to win games in a competitive SC 2 environment against a race some feel is overpowered.

The main deal behind this Zerg Magic Box new technique vs. the "OP" Terran Thor force is that the Mutas will clump up when directly to attack a Thor head-on.

To stop them from clumping and taking additional splash damage, simply tell the Mutas to fly over the Thors and then have them "stop" using that command so they stay spread out. The Thors will hit the Mutas more indvidually or only splash damage a few of them instead of all of them.

This technique demonstrated by PsyStarcraft is not meant as a be-all, end-all strategy vs. Thors. On the contrary, Thors are designed to kill Mutas effectively so you will not get cost-effective attacks using the Mutas on the Terran Thors in most cases. But it's still a very useful strategy to know and have for Mutas to avoid splash damage.

Give it a try in the next game you play and check out the video from our friend PsyStarcraft, thanks for reading about the new Zerg Magic Box technique vs. Terran.
