The-Dream and Christina Milian Are Engaged

Reports do indicate that The-Dream and Christina Milian are indeed, engaged, following months of speculation and intrigue fueled by the couple's attempts to quell the rumors and play the coy tack. The celebrity duo is an object of affection per the paparazzi and is featured upon the racy final August 2009 cover of the shuttered Vibe Magazine. The spread has been ridiculed within particular quarters of the music industry by critics guffawing over the chubby singer's physique juxtaposed against Christina Milian's topless pose.

Still, the two remain yet to set a date for the wedding and have intimated their desire to enter Holy Matrimony amidst a small gathering of friends and family.

The-Dream, R&B Sensation

Terius Hagert Youngdell Nash, or The-Dream, born in Rockingham, North Carolina, was actually raised by his mother at Atlanta's gritty West Side - Bankhead neighborhood. Nash fulfilled his passion for music as a young man by picking up the trumpet instrument durning his elementary school enrollment.

The-Dream quickly developed into a singer and songwriter as he matured and was introduced to music producer Laney Stewart in 2001. Nash began to pen an impressive list of smash hits for various artists including Rihanna's "Umbrella," J. Holiday's "Bed," and Beyonce's "Single Ladies."

The-Dream is now the latest rhythm and blues sensation - fresh off the release of his Love / Hate and Love Vs. Money albums in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Nash lays sole claim to BET's 2008 Best New Artist award and the Radio Killa's "Rockin' That Thang" peaked at #2 per Billboard's R&B / Hip-Hop charts.

Mr. Nash enters his current relationship with Christina Milian following his prior 2004-2007 marriage and divorce to singer Nivea.

Christina Milian, Entertainer

Although Christine Flores, 27, is but one year older than her dating beau, the woman occupied the limelight for several years, while The-Dream toiled behind the scenes. The Cuban-American entertainer has released four separate albums and appeared within numerous television and movie roles since 1996.

The future Christina Milian exhibited a flair for show business as a precocious youngster growing up in Maryland auditioning for local commercials. Milian was to move to Los Angeles as a teenager with her recently divorced mother in order to mingle with the music and entertainment set.

Flores actually caught her big break via Ja Rule, with whom she was to belt the hook for Rule's "Between Me and You" in 2000 as a 19-year old songstress. Although the smash hit provided the ultimate catalyst for Milian's rise to stardom, the road has indeed remained bumpy.

Christina Milian's career peaked on the charts with "Dip it Low" in 2005.

Following mixed reviews and meandering output, the singer was unceremoniously dropped from the Def Jam label in 2006 and signed with MySpace records, shortly thereafter. Milian, acknowledging weak record sales as a factor behind her dismissal from Def Jam was to meet and collaborate with The-Dream beginning in 2009.

The Milian - Dream joint projects sparked a firestorm of debate questioning the merits of said relationship. Cynics blasted the secrecy as a publicity stunt set forth merely to resuscitate Milian's flagging career. Of course, the dating scuttlebutt on the airwaves began to heat up in the aftermath of the diva's February 2009 break up with producer Andre Lyon.

In typical celebrity fashion, both camps were to deny a romantic relationship until very recently. In fact, Milian continued to downplay the engagement for weeks, despite sporting a fresh diamond on her ring finger to be perused by reporters.

The pair's recent Vibe interview, along with Milian's July 18, 2009 commentary towards Us Magazine have addressed the obvious after months of dating. Says the beaming bride to be:

"We don't have plans yet - but it hasn't happened, that I can confirm. We just want to have our closest friends and family there; it's not going to be too big."
