The hottest song on the album is "Just Fine," and by now with the commercial on iTunes- with ever radio station broadcasting it, along it the few music producing television show; where Internet bloggers have screamed out the chorus to the song. "Just Fine," is the hit song of the fall, and it tells you a side of her music can still touch the fans. As a male when I hear "Feel Like a Woman" I teaches me to respect the emotion vibes a woman can have. This song again has a mellow approach to it. It carriage her voice with a soft echo in the background. This song is saying to the fellas make you women feel like a woman. The best song on the album is really not the featured song. The word chemistry between the two artist show wonders on the follow of the song. Usher is teaching men in this song to give love a chance and shake down that love. While Mary J. Blige temps the audience with, all I want you to do is show that person love. This album is a mixture of classical music with a hip-hop vibe. It's about a culture searching for love and doing what it takes to get that love.
In my prospective, this album is about moving from one place to another, and getting your chance at the game of love. This album is a tall tail of how far music, MJB, the hip-hop culture its self has come. The beats respect the musicians of the past, while celebrating the cultural birth of the future. Mary J. Blige's music is a throw back to her earlier days, except the drama is know all grown up. This album is the rebirth of Aretha Franklin, while showing the Fantasia, Keisha Coles, Foxy Brown, and other powerful women with strong voices, that you can still have drama but grow from your drama. Don't let your drama consume you. Would I compare Mary J. Blige to young females that are hip-hop stars like Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Rihanna, and the new bunch of divas- no because Marry J. Blige is on a different platform. The other artist are where they are because of the life filled drama she has brought to us. Her music is something that only a few artist have been able to do, and that grove and grow up. Mary J. Blige is the princess of soul and classical hip-hop.
TheFan(NJ) is a myspace columnist, a positive online blogger, a iTunes promoter, and most importantly a music lover. If this was a review from the vibe magazine- this album would get 4.5 bars. Also, if t is review was in the "Source Magazine" it would get 4.5 mics. Even if this review made it to "Rise Magazine" it would get 4.5 ticks. Since this an iTunes exclusive, a myspace production, and TheFan(NJ)'s promotion this album gets 4.5 fan votes. iTunes does selective music reviews, and they ask many of their promoters to do special album reviews. This album and review had TheFan(NJ) next in line. As a fan of music I would love to do album reviews for anyone. So show some support to the music makers, music lovers and fans, and get behind the myspace page that brings the fan closer to your work.
My reason for the 4.5 fan votes is the best song on the album is not the featured song, "Shake Down." I say this because the song is showing to side of love and happiness. That is sonme thing we have not seen in a Mary J.Blige song. It is an a classical album for all music lovers.
