Theism is belief in the existence of God with or without a belief in a special revelation . Atheism is the disbelief in the existence of a God . Theism propagates the existence of God based on revealed Holy books or without any revelation . All the religions argue about the existence of God by preaching and propagating the existence of the universe in its present form and the disturbed uncontrollable calamities as the act of God .

One of the biggest argument in favour of the existence of God which is often forwarded is that Man has to feel the presence of God through Mountains , rivers, sun , moon , and the planetary system as the work of God . God is present but is invisible . God is kind but waits to render justice on the day of judgment . God is merciful but causes innocent deaths and makes hundreds die unaware without notice in natural disasters .

Atheism finds no reason in the existence of man and does not believe in the existence of God . Atheism does not conform to the practice of established religions and does not find the necessity of religion as a parameter of any belief . Atheism refutes the existence of God and look towards scientific explanation to the existence of this universe . Atheism has no belief but believes that man is born by accident and dies by accident .

Theism has promises of better life for mankind after death .Theism thrives on poverty and hope . Atheism propagates fearlessness and no accountability .Theism envisions a system under control of an Almighty who is a silent spectator to the praying believers without ever thinking of returning their prayers . Sufferings are accepted as pinnacle of tests to be faced by the believers to prove their loyalty to the most merciful God . Atheism has no God and believes in free thinking . Atheism believes in truth with scientific enquiry. What is your view ?

    Jim Stillman,
You have made a very good point regarding revelation of books. I agree with you regarding the rationale for killing, hatred and war.

Thanks for reading my post .

Both theism and atheism rely on pure faith, since there can never be pure scientific evidence of God or His non-existence. The existence of God cannot be established by books deemed inspired or written by Him as that would be circular reasoning. As for me, if faith in God makes one a better person here on earth and comforts one during periods of loss or sorrow, it is worthwhile. Unfortunately, religious faith and belief have been the rationale for killing, hatred and war. That's not God's fault, it is ours.
