Theme Ideas for Your Child's Easter Basket

Children are delighted on Easter morning to find an Easter basket waiting for them. You can make sure to create an Easter basket that your child will love by creating a basket based on a particular theme idea. Here are several theme ideas to get you started on creating Easter baskets your kids will love.

Hidden Treasures-Themed Easter Basket

Instead of placing everything in sight in your child's Easter basket try hiding them in the Easter grass. Small treasures can be placed in various spots in the Easter grass for your child to dig through and find. Items from the quarter machine would work great with this basket theme. You could also plant gold wrapped chocolate coins in the Easter basket as well. In the middle bottom of the basket you can plant a treasure chest holding a few special items. You can find small paper boxes at the craft store to be used as your treasure chest. Tip: Instead of using Easter grass to fill your basket why not use shredded colored paper instead? Great items for shredding would also include your child's artwork that you don't wish to keep. If your children are like mine they draw hundreds of pictures each day and you can't possibly keep them all. While the shredded paper can still create a mess it is easier to see shredded paper than Easter grass on your carpet.

Spring-Themed Easter Basket

Spring is a welcoming sight after having spent several months dealing with the cold winter weather. As the temperatures rise and the sun shines again your children are probably eager to head back outside for some outdoor spring time fun. You can encourage them to want to play outdoors by creating an Easter basket filled with fun outdoor entertainment. Jump ropes, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, kites, pinwheels, butterfly nets, bug catching jars, and more can be just what your child needs to entertain themselves during the spring months. You can sometimes find candy bugs in a jar or make your own using a clean jar, gummy bugs or worms, and crushed chocolate wafer cookies. You can find many Easter candies and chocolates shaped like these cute cuddly creatures and are often inexpensive as well. Throw in an inexpensive stuffed animal along with novelty items featuring these animals into the Easter basket as well and you've just created a fun themed Easter basket your child is sure to love.
