Theme Park Safety: What Every Kid Should Know

Sarah Morris
My family is planning a trip to a theme park. Which got me thinking of all the safety issues involved! When a family goes to a theme park, safety is the main concern! Whether you have little children or older children, going over certain rules and safety precautions will make the trip much more fun for them and relaxing for you. So before heading to the fun rides, restroom stops, or even to get a drink or snack. Think safety!

Strangers

Strangers and outings with the kids is my top priority. So this safety tip will be my first part to my guide. Theme Parks are big and have a lot of people. As parents, we are always worried when going places about our kids and strangers! Kids are trusting and are always learning about who is okay to talk to and who not okay to talk to. Let your children know that even though mommy or daddy may have to talk to a stranger does not mean they should. Let your children know that when person says hi, they do not know, they do not say hi back. Let them know not be rude, but just tell them to stick close.

Cleanliness

Theme Parks are full of germs! Let your children be aware of this. When taking them to the restroom make sure they do not touch a bunch of thing, make sure they wash their hands, and bring sanitizer, so when leaving the restrooms they can use some. After rides have them use some sanitizer and before eating he=ave them wash and sanitize also. Now to kids this can sound boring but when you explain you are keeping them as germ free as possible, so they do not get sick. They may just listen.

Rides

Children love the theme park rides! So as parents we need to make sure they stay safe while using them. Even though the ride operator is handling the ride. It is your responsibility to keep your children safe. Letting them know they are to follow all rules of the ride and holding on is safe. Will make it less stressful for you and much more safe for them. Always having one or both parents go on the ride with your children is a very good idea! Making your children feel safe and you feel easier about the ride!

Other Safety Tips

Last , but definitely not least! Here are a few other tips to keep your children safe at a theme park. When planning a day at a theme park. Safety is something that will go through your heads over a billion times! So here are a few ways to keep the family close and your children from being unnoticeable in a large crowd! Have your family pick a bright color shirt to wear that matches each other. This way this is a color you will notice right away. Have your children bring a noise maker, such as a whistle, so if they became strayed away from your family, they can blow until you find them or until a park worker notices and finds them help. Have them bring bright bracelets that mach yours or wear hats that are bright and the same color. These are all little tips for your family to recognize that color you choose first when looking for one another. Always have your child go every where with a family adult at ALL times!

Always remember safety when going to theme parks or anywhere. With your children! These are just some of the safety tips you could use. I know as a parent you could find a lot more. Stay safe, have fun, and don't forget a lot of pictures!
