Started in 1973, the Medieval Dinner & Restaurant transports you to "faraway lands including a romantic snowy rendezvous in the woods and an authentic medieval tournament for the Battle of Champions ® -- with the help of Hollywood-caliber special effects," according to the dinner's website. With nine castles all over U.S., this family-friendly attraction is located at the entrance to Free Style MusicPark (just off Highway 501) in Myrtle Beach.
Medieval Times Dinner & Restaurant displays two hours of medieval era combat, horsemanship and jousting. Keeping the tradition of 11th century alive, the castle serves a four-course meal that the guests eat with their hands. The fare includes garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, spare rib, herb-basted potatoes, pastry, coffee and selected beverages. Vegetarian meals are available on request. The vegetarian meal features delights such as Portobello mushroom cap stuffed with whole grain, rice and bean blend, large skewer of roasted vegetables, hummus with pita chips, and others.
Reserve tickets online through their website. The castles open their door 90 minutes prior to the show time. Plan to arrive early. Tickets price includes the show, the four-course dinner and select beverages. Admissions for children under the age of 3 are free as long as they sit on adults' laps and eat from their plate. Dress code is casual.
