Thep Thai Exceeds Expectations

This is a dining experience you do not want to miss. Thep Thai (formerly named Thai Ocha) was wonderful. It's been a long time since I've eaten at a place where I loved everything I tried. My family and I visited on a Sunday afternoon. It was quiet. The service was just wonderful, friendly. The decor was nice. The entire place was very clean.

We started out with an order of fish cakes for the appetizer. The spicy cucumber sauce was sweet and spicy. The perfect compliment to the whitefish. I also ordered a Thai Iced Tea. This is a must have whenever you dine at Thep Thai. I highly recommend it.

Thep Thai does have a kids menu. But we didn't ask for one and didn't see one, so we ordered, for our 6 year-old daughter, the Pineapple Fried Rice with shrimp. To our surprise it was a huge portion beautifully presented. And our daughter loved it.

I ordered the Mussamun Curry because I like potatoes and onions. It comes with your choice of beef, chicken, pork, shrimp or mixed seafood. I chose shrimp. My husband ordered Panang Curry. Very Yummy! Both dinners were beautifully presented in medium sized bowls with the rice on separate plates. This made it perfect for passing around the table so that everyone can get a little taste.

And that's where it gets good. All the dishes were distinct, flavorful, and wonderful. I do have one suggestion: If you'd like your dish really spicy, you'll need to let you waiter know it. Our server said that they generally prepare their dishes "medium" unless the customer says otherwise. I suggest asking for "a little more spicy".
