There Goes the Earth

Allana Calhoun
Save the Earth
it's easy to say, but difficult to do
There go our fossil fuels.
How are we supposed to replace them?
There go the trees.
We plant new ones, but how long will they last?
There go the bodies of water.
Polluted with chemicals, what is left to drink?
There go the clouds.
Instead of pure water, they drop wet acid.
There goes the land.
Covered with cities, how much land is left?
There goes the ozone layer.
When it is all gone, how will we live?
We can ask these questions and look for answers,
but will we find them in time to save the Earth
and us?

such a perplexing issue for poetry but you've done very well. Mother earth is dying because of us, and we can't really do much about it.
