There Must Be a Place

Deborah Coss
His yellow eyes appeared sleeping.
I wasn't fooled- he saw the creeping.
A black, shiny, and glossy form flew though the air.
He was so proud of his trophy lying there.
He cuddled me so close, so's to help me to mend.
Just because I loved him, he was my friend.
There must be a special place in heaven where he could go.
A wonderful place in heaven, just for cats, I know.
