There is No Such Thing as Free in Life!
Sometimes You Can Find Some Really Fun Free Stuff, Useable Free Stuff
Here is the strange thing about working as a freelancer you have time and you need money. That is a pretty fair statement and most of the time you need items that help you along to get the money. So when that happens I go "Treasure Hunting" for Bargains, Freebies and absolutely "knock me of my rocker" Deals that are just too good to pass up.
My criteria in this virtual version of "The Prize is Right" are as follows:
The Item has to meet my need as closely as possible. If it is even remotely unusable for what I want, then I will pass it by and keep looking. For example: I was looking to add a few more Websites to my ever increasing workload. I can almost hear you groaning and wondering why I would be so foolish and do something that crazy. Well the answer is simple, if I want to start selling certain information or products I have to more often then not specialize the Website or Blog. I can not add Adult with Products for Kittens, nor can I sell my Kid's Books on the same Website as my Erotica. I know that because in my stupidity I tried. What I found was a Company that allows me to get domain registration, web hosting and add ons for free. It there a catch you rightfully ask and the honest answer is - no. What there is however are a few things you have to do for them in return. They get paid by sponsors and you have to fill out a few free offers. No credit card required. You need to be from the US or England I believe. I tried it out and guess what, they are really legit. I took me only 7 points to get one of my objectives finished. If you want to check into it visit:DomainLagoon, Free Domains Now what do you have to loose?
If I have to pay for something later, I want to try it now for free first. Which means that I want some free samples wouldn't you? Now here I am a bit more flexible I have to say. Strange, but I have found some real fun stuff over the years that made great little gifts. Most of the time all I paid for was shipping and handling and most of the Time not even that.
With Halloween around the Corner I am the proverbial Candy and Halloween Gift and Costume Hound. Here are a few of the headlines that got my attention; What do you like to find in your Trick-or-Treat bag: Snickers(R) or Reese's(R) Peanut Butter Cups(R)? Tell us your favorite Halloween candy. Then participate for $50 worth of your candy choice Free*! (original advertisement). I haven't tried this out yet, but I know it is a Survey company. This could be really good, if you don't like what they have to say, just do what I do and click it off.
Another one asked me a very direct question: Reese's(R) or Snickers(R)? (Again original text). Well I don't know about you, but I am partial to Snickers.
I am in dire need of a new laptop and some new cell phones. Here I go for Bargain rather then free. I know I have to pay for it somewhere along the line, but as long as the product really is what they promise and I get it, I won't complain to hard.
I was checking into IPhones and found that they are just a bit out of my price range. As I mentioned before I like giving my 2 cents worth, hey cut that out I heard that, and for that reason I take these free online surveys all the time. I like earning my points, getting my prizes and sometimes that is how I get my Magazine subscriptions. A writer has to have his/her sources and inspiration. Well, long story short. I found a survey place that offers you to gain points for giving your bit of mustard to the hot dog and then trade it in for IPhones. Can we say bingo! In case you want one to, check it out here. Register now with Valued Opinions and you could win an iPhone! (It is the IPhone Sweeps link that I had found.)
And talking about those Survey Places that you can join. Have you ever heard of Nielsen/Netratings? If not let me tell you that they are one of the companies responsible in determining the popularity of Television ratings with help of their Penalists. I always wanted to give my opinion on some of those Shows. Well here was my chance and yes, I know I was supposed to be working. Join the Nielsen//NetRatings Internet Panel, win one of 1,500 prizes instantly! Winning Prizes isn't bad either, but honestly I won't hold my breath on that one.
Software that helps me keep track of my Accounting. Now this one I came across a while ago and had completely forgotten to tell you about. Are you familiar with Quicken? Great software and yes I know not all that expensive in the Stores. If you can get it for $4.95 S&H however, wouldn't you? I did and wasn't disappointed. I really did get the software just as they promised. Fully functional. No problems and this is for small businesses so I qualify. Here just in case you want to get one too. Oh, before I forget to mention this because we are global here. This offer is good for US and Canada only, sorry.Launch your internet business with a FREE copy of QuickBooks Simple Start 2007! Included with the FREE Simple Start Business Kit! Act Now! (I did too and got it! Just for copyright reasons, yes this is the original text of the ad).
I am starting to feel like a link farm, but eh I figured why not pass it along to you. Here is the trick on finding bargains and free stuff. You will get a lemon from time to time like: Quote: Achieve financial freedom using Robert Allen's proven real estate wealth strategies. Now that was the Ad I followed. Not saying that it wasn't true what they stated. I did spend my $4.95 for shipping and handling, but the information I received really wasn't much clearer to me personally then any other I had received anywhere on the net. Oh well, maybe I am just not smart enough.
The Point I was trying to make so painfully longwinded, was that you can find those things. You have to take your chances with them from time to time. Just make sure you don't follow any long 7 page sign up links. 1 - 2 information Pages and we are still in business, anything over and it is all over.
Good luck and let me know in the comments if you found anything super cheap. Oh and if anyone wants to sell an Alienware Area 51 M 5500 or better in excellent working condition for cheap give me a shout. I want one for my husbands Christmas Present.
