There is a Reason They Call it "Obamas Cadillac Healthcare Tax"

Another Way to Overburden the Already Stretched Budgets of the American People?

The new healthcare reform bill has been debated back and forth for months now. Many of our Citizens fear what this uniform healthcare bill will mean to them. Anytime the government starts dictating yet another portion of our way of living, taking away yet another little right or freedom to allow personal decision making, we as the citizens of a country who prided themselves on our freedoms get understandably nervous.

But regardless if you agree or disagree with President Obamas ideas for healthcare for every US citizen, you can't help but wonder why it is nicknamed the "Cadillac" healthcare tax.

To me personally, a Cadillac has always been a car which was a "money guzzler", a car that looked wonderful on the outside, but once you examined it a little closer you would see that it was not all it was billed and claimed to be. So when I take that analogy of the car and turn it over to this health insurance bill, I can't help but wonder if we are not being presented with a beautiful outer exterior as well, while all the while it will only rob us of even more money then we are already being taken for.

Is President Obama really on the side of the average American family as he claims, or is it just another clever scheme to bring more tax dollars in the much overtaxed budget? On January 11th 2010, President Obama met with the Labor Leaders for a closed door conference. To no little surprise, their intellectual arm wrestling and strong arming, ended with no results at all. No big surprise there! With good reason, in my humble opinion, the Labor Leaders are concerned about the new proposed up to 40% tax hike which President Obama endorsed on health care benefits. 40%! That is outrageous!

With all due respect to our esteemed President, but my question would be: "Are you out of your ever loving mind?" Most average middle class families already have to make the decision of taking advantage of the ever increasing high cost insurance plans their employers offer, or being able to put food on their families table. In case you haven't noticed Mr. President, we are in the middle of a recession! If this 40% tax hike does end up going into effect, by the year 2019 we will be worst off then we are now. If not before then!

At Election Day, many American Citizens shouted in pure bliss, that change was here. Well now I have to wonder, as many others do, if this was the change we really needed.

Many Countries in Europe have had a government controlled healthcare plan for many years, but in no other country, was it lead as it appears here by motivation of governmental greed. I am sorry, but to me, this just seems a little to one sided and it is stacked on the wrong side of the scales. Very little with us working Americans and their families in mind, and all for the coffers which have been emptied by stupid decisions on the parts of our politicians. Bless their hearts, they are just human too, they make mistakes! But when you hold the fate of an entire country in your hand and millions of people, you really should worry a little less about your historical legacies and more about those who have put you into office.

So for me....I am not looking forward to another big brother action!
