There's You

Jaded

I picked you up today so that we could dance
And you looked me in the eyes
And gave me the most beautiful smile.
You flung your arms around me
Hanging on tight
And you laughed.

My heart, it just stopped.

When nothing else is right... When I cry myself to sleep... When I crawl on my knees and pray for strength because I don't think I can make it through...
When it's cold outside... When I'm sad and I feel hopeless and lost...
There's you.

I heard you wake up from your afternoon nap
So I snuck through the door, but you caught me
And you stood there with your arms outstretched
And you said "mama".

My heart, it just stopped.

You were playing on the floor with your toys
And you turned around to see what I was up to
And I gave you goofy face
You laughed like it was the funniest thing
Crawling toward me giggling
And you gave me a kiss.

My heart, it just stopped.

When nothing else is right... When I cry myself to sleep... When I crawl on my knees and pray for strength because I don't think I can make it through...
When it's cold outside... When I'm sad and I feel hopeless and lost...
There's you.
