Printer cable, mouse wire, monitor cord - they're all back there doing their respective jobs.
And I like to keep them neat and straight.
At the gym, I hold my mp3 player in my hand when I jog on the treadmill. The earphone wires flap, so I bundle them up.
One day I'll stop winding the cord around the music-player and stuffing it in my gym bag when I'm done working up a good sweat.
Museum of Modern...Cords?
One way I can get my cord-life together is to get a pretty product like this cable turtle organizer that hides ugly excess cables in their own colorful shells.
The wire management system is so cute in fact that its design has won awards and is even part of the Museum of Modern Art 's design collection!
Then there's the cute CableYoYo for reeling in low voltage cords, the CableYoYo POP for iPods and cell phones and laptops and such.
The earPOD is for iPods and One Man Tied which can wrap all those messy desktop cord together neatly, isn't boring.
It could add to an office's aesthetics.
Finally, Cable-Safe lifts clutter off the floor and out of harm's way, while RipWrap can bundle it all up -- a tape that's secure.
It'll be even cooler once I stop untangling all these cords. Every little bit of time saved is one more article written...

The yoyo is genius. I hate wires with a passion. In fact, they drive me crazy. Especially when chaos theory takes over the moment you put your mp3 player in your pocket or bag - no matter how tight you wind 'em, they twist and knot like you wouln't believe. Arrrgh.
I know what you mean. Sometimes you feel like, It's the 21 Century!! Why are they still cords? Shouldn't we be wireless by now. Hehe. Great article Paula.
Funny--I just finished doing this (unwrapping cords) this morning!
Thanks for the tip Paula.
