The Beach side cities:
The Outer Banks is the place to go with kids. Here they can learn about Orville and Wilbur Wright and see where they took their first flight. Also while on the Outer Banks they can fly a kite because of the winds on the Outer Banks this is great to do. There are nature parks and the NC Aquarium that you can visit. Taking them to see the lighthouses is an awesome experience. You can even let them walk to the top of one of the lighthouses and here you can all look out over the ocean. When going to the outer banks take a ferry which is another unique experience. There are national Parks on the outer banks and if you get a National Park Pass you can save money when visiting these places. This includes visiting the several light houses and the parks.
Another inexpensive thing that you and the whole family can do and enjoy is fishing from the piers. There are many piers on the Outer banks that you can fish from. You can spend a week on the Outer Banks in North Carolina and never get bored. If your children love Monster Trucks, along the highway you will find the Grave Digger's Monster truck Shop. You can quickly stop and have your photo taken in front of the monster truck there.
Going south when you leave the Outer Banks you can stop at Bath and learn about Blackbeard's treasure, or continue till you reach Morehead city NC and you can see the boat and ships coming into port there. There are many small towns along the coast of North Carolina that you can stop and visit and learn history and learn about legends of the state, which there are many.
There are many great places along the coast of North Carolina that you can stop and visit. Many of these the whole family can enjoy and everyone will have a great time.
