Things to Do for Christmas 2009 in Lima, Ohio

You can celebrate Christmas 2009 with the world famous country/gospel group, the Oak Ridge Boys, watch the musical, White Christmas, as performed by Holiday in Harmony at Lima Senior High School, enjoy songs of the season with the River City Brass Band, and enjoy breakfast with Santa at Macy's in Lima, Ohio, and the Lima region. Those are only some of the many ways in the Lima and nearby areas of remembering the birth of our Savior, Who came to give a home in heaven to all who believe in Him this Christmas season.

The Oak Ridge Boys, who were first known as a Southern Gospel group, before they moved to country and pop music in the 1970's, will perform December 15 in the Veteran's Memorial Civic and Convention Center at 7:30 p.m. The group, which has since returned to its gospel roots, will be performing some its country hits, such as Elvira, and Bobby Sue.

After an intermission, you will see Christmas trees, falling snow, and hear many Christmas favorites, as performed by the group. Tickets are $42.50 each. The box office may be reached at 419-224-1552.

You can celebrate Christmas 2009 in Lima by watching Holiday in Harmony perform White Christmas December 11 and 12 at the school at 7:30 p.m. You can enjoy such songs as White Christmas, Snow, and Sisters. You will also hear traditional favorites and the Hallelujah Chorus.

Tickets are $10-$25 each for the Christmas performance of the River City Brass Band at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert, which is a community wide way of celebrating Christmas 2009 for those in the Lima area. For more information, call 419-238-6722.

You and your children can enjoy breakfast with Santa at Macy's in Lima on December 12 and December 19 at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $10 each, and proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House.

The Nutcracker-All Jazzed Up will be performed December 19 at 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Veteran's Memorial Civic and Convention Center. Advance tickets can be purchased at Lyn's Academy of Dance for $9.00 beginning Dec. 1 - 18. General Admission will be $10.

You can celebrate Christmas in nearby Bluffton University in Bluffton on December 15 at 7:30 p.m. with the Moscow Boys Choir. For more information about tickets call 419-358-3239.
