Coral Gables is a city that is located in Southern Florida in Miami-Dade County. Also known as, "The City Beautiful" it's a prime tourist destination with many fun and exciting things to do. You'll find many historic landmarks in the city along with two public golf courses and many parks where the family can enjoy spending time together. But, that is just the beginning. Alhambra Water Tower
One of the most interesting historic sites found in this area is the Alhambra Water Tower. This tower was built in 1924 and it was actually used as part of the water system that supplied the city with its water. It was restored in 1993. This place is amazing and the architectural design is stunning.
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
The Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is one of the best in the world. Follow the paths through a world of tropical plants that include several endangered species, flowering trees, cycads, aroids, vines and an amazing collection of palm trees. It will be a sight you'll always remember. My kids love this place.
Village of Merrick Park
If you love to shop, Village of Merrick Park is the place to be. This mall has it all so you're sure to have a wonderful time and find many excellent items to take home as souvenirs from your trip to Coral Gables.
Coral Gables Merrick House and Gardens
One of the most fascinating historic sites in Coral Gables is Coral Gables Merrick House and Gardens. It takes about 45 minutes for the tour and the admission is only $5 for adults and $1 for kids 6 to 12 years of age. Kids five and under get in free. It's a great family tour that you're sure to enjoy.
Dragonfly Expeditions
Do you love nature hikes? Have you always wanted to hike through a tropical paradise? Then add Dragonfly Expeditions to the list of things to do when visiting Coral Gables, Florida. Venetian Pool
One of the most fun and exciting pools in the world is located in Coral Gables and it's called Venetian Pool. However, you must be at least 38" tall or at least three years old to be allowed in this water park. If you don't have small children, it's a great place to visit. You'll enjoy the historic sites along with many other points of interest that will keep you entertained completely. Admission price is between $3 and $9 to enter.
