Things I Did with My Leftover Turkey

Sunflower
Now that the big day is over many people are still wondering what to do with all that leftover turkey, and there are many things you can do with it, you can eat for at lease a week after thanksgiving is over on your leftovers, don't throw it out because that will be a weeks worth of food you won't have to buy because you made other dishes out of your leftovers. Make sure you wrap everything with some aluminum foil or some plastic wrap or put it in plastic containers for storage and keep refrigerated because turkey will spoil very quickly. That's one of the good things about thanksgiving because when it's all over after all that cooking you can just add a few other ingredients and have a different dish that won't taste so much like turkey and stuffing like what you had for the thanksgiving holiday. Listed below is some things I did with my leftover thanksgiving turkey.

I made a big bowl of salad with my turkey leftovers, this salad is called a Turkey Egg Salad, all you need is a lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, eggs, and your leftover turkey. Wash and break your lettuce into medium pieces just like making any other salad strip your turkey pieces about a cups and a half, dices your tomatoes, slice your cucumber and boil your eggs about six because you'll need four for the top, slice the other two into the salad mix and toss all ingredients together in a large bowl than place the other four eggs on top of your salad than you have a turkey salad that you can have at lease two days You can choose to have the salad along or with another dish or if you had it along it's still very filling, you can also add bacon bits on top of the salad. This is a great salad you'll want to make all year round not just after thanksgiving, make it whenever you want to make a salad you can try this Turkey Egg Salad.

After all that eating on thanksgiving day you'll want to have something lite like a salad to give yourself a chance to loose a few pounds and before you go back to your normal cooking, you can't go wrong with turkey because, it's not so fattening and you can always eat as much salad as you like without worrying to much. Here's a picture of what that turkey salad looks like to give you an idea. This salad takes no time to make you can be in and out of the kitchen without feeling like you're still eating your turkey and stuffing like what you had on the holiday you'll feel like you're eating something different.

For the remainder of your turkey you can make turkey sandwiches hot or cold with a litter miracle whip or mayo on some whole wheat bread cut in half with a pickle on the side slice your turkey in thin slices and add a leaf of lettuce or a slice of tomatoes if you like.

And if you still have some leftover turkey you can make some turkey soup, get some egg noodles add to a pot of boiling water slice carrots, celery, some thyme, a little salt and pepper and little parsley, or whatever seasoning you like, add your turkey pieces after about fifteen minutes because the turkey is already cooked and you don't want to over cook the already cooked turkey, than you have a simply turkey soup and you'll properly already have some noodles, carrots, and celery in your house and again you can have this soup for about two days. Some people even make turkey pot pies which is pretty easy to but, you make not be quite ready to turn on that oven again so soon as the pot pies will need to go into the oven.
