Harry Potter's parents were killed on October 31, 1981. James and Lilly Potter were killed by Lord Voldemort while trying to protect Harry.
Harry's birthday is July, 31. It's the same day as the series creator, J. K. Rowling
Harry Potter was also the name of a 19th century clock maker.
Harry Potter is considered a half blood even though both of his parents were magical. Lilly Potter was Muggle born. Thus Harry is still considered half Muggle.
Harry Potter's father is the only son to pure blood parents. They were somewhat older when he was born.
Harry Potter spent his early life in Little Whining, England. He lived with his non magical aunt and uncle he until he was was invited to attend Hogwart's, a school for wizards. Little Willing doesn't actually exist.
Harry's aunt and uncle, the Dursleys, treated him very badly.
Harry Potter must return to the Dursleys once a year to continue the ancient protection his mother gave him. By returning to his mother's family he renews the protection.
Harry was left his parents and his godfather's estates.
Harry's godfather, Sirius Black may also be a relative. The Black Family tree includes a Charlus Potter.
Harry Potter is a seeker on the quidditch team. His father was chaser. Natural talent for the game runs in the family. Quittich is an ancient wizarding game that involves flying on brooms and chasing a winged golden ball.
Both Harry Potter and Lord Valdemort have phoenix feathers at the heart of their wands.
J. K. Rowling has said that Harry Potter is not related to Voldemort or Dumbledore as some fans suspect.
Harry Potter looks a great deal like his father. James Potter also had messy black hair and wore glasses.
Harry's middle name is James.
Harry Potter's eyes are the same color as his mothers. They are a brilliant green. The similarity is expected to be very important in the final book.
Professor Trewlany predicted that Harry will live to a ripe old age, be the Minster of Magic and have 12 children. Though she's a divination teacher she's not known for her accuracy.
Harry Potter has the ability to sense when others are near.
According to J.K. Rowling Harry is not the heir of Gryffindor
Harry's lightning bolt scar was once the only thing he liked about his appearance. The scar resulted from the clash with Lord Voldemort while he was an infant.
Harry Potter's surname was taken from a professor that lived down the street for Rowling. Harry is her her favorite male name.

Post a CommentI got into and loved the Lord of the Rings, but I have never really gotten into Harry Potter, though I suspect I might like them. I guess I should give them a try one weekend when I have nothing to do.
