Read a Book ,If you like to read ,Try taking time out after a busy day of work or chores at home and grab that book you always think on starting to read but always put off. If you are a parent take advantage when you kids are playing outside , watching their favorite show or playing their favorite console game.
You can take a book almost everywhere, so next time you go to the Park or to the laundry take a book and relax watching the leaves Fall. Even if its 10 minutes a day ,that's time you have to let your mind go away for a bit. It might even give you a reading speed goal.
Crocheting/Knitting is another fall activity you can do. Prepare a canvas bag with the yarn and needle you might need Pick a Pattern from a book or there are neat website that give you free patterns, if you can print the pattern some come in PDF format or write it down and near a window if you can start crocheting .
I am a self thought crotchet and I still consider myself a beginner but I do make scarves . Which I believe is great to start In fall and you can make scarves for you or family members and their even great Christmas presents.
If you don't Know how to crochet there are websites that can help you or give you an idea where to begin. I use websites that give a good visual for certain stitches and this has help me when I am not sure how the stitch is done or forget.
Make candles, I have recycled old candle for years and I even get family and friends to give me theirs. Recycle your old candles around the house and give them new life. You will need a medium size old pot. A aluminum coffee can, that is smaller than the pot. Or a aluminum cup with handle preferably. A plastic or wooden stirring spoon you don't use and Empty Pringle cans or small empty milk containers. For the wick cotton yarn will do.
You can get instructions how to make candles on line just make sure any materials used you keep separate from your cooking utensils. Also cooking mittens , towels and a apron is recommended. Remember always be careful when melting wax. Keep an eye on what your doing and when you have your finish product which is a candle. When burning ,put candle in a glass container and in a open space away from anything flammable.
I am a licensed artisan in candle making and I have been doing it for a while early on I realized that going to stores to buy materials makes this hobby expensive so I learned to recycle wax and containers that I thought would look nice as a molds. it's a nice hobby when the weather is getting chilly keeps you warm and the candle scents give a nice smell to your surroundings.
Take Pictures, take out your camera dust it off. Go outside enjoy the change in Falls different colors and take a Picture. I love to take picture of nature, colors of leaves in fall are so pretty. Take a picture of the flowers and even pumpkins that might decorate your or your next doors neighbors, garden or lawn. From the pictures you took, pick your favorite and put it in a frame. You will have a beautiful decoration piece that means something to you.
Sometimes I decide to take my camera for a walk with me and some of the pictures. I come home Happy with their results.
Fall leaves ,you can pick leaves and pine cones and the acorns and put into a vase and have a nice fall center piece. If you have kids get them Involves and any other family member. They will feel proud they contributed to this project once on display. Make art out of leaves make a flower a using some glue and put in a postcard to friends or family or put into frames another economical Fall decoration.
Board games , I have my favorite game for this Fall which is Banana-gram I like to play this game with my kids. I have fun making little crossword puzzle with them and it helps with their spelling and reading. Take out your Favorite board game and get friends or family to play. If alone pick a nice relaxing solitaire game you can play. Relaxing Threw fall sounds like a smart Idea before the hectic seasons ahead.
Decorate a Pumpkin ,display it on your Yard , porch or make it a nice centerpiece. Make a silly or frightening face on your pumpkin with your kids. now stores have Potato like parts for your pumpkins for smaller child.
Since Halloween Is included in this time ,you can make a plan for a Halloween Party for family , friends and find your creative side , let it come out, anything just make sure you enjoy it and remember to have fun.
Make your own Fall traditions or activities and post it so others can get Ideas too.
