Adventure Island
Adventure Island is a great place to start our fun things to do in Gulf Shores, Alabama list. My children were thrilled to have so many things to do in one place. The active volcano was so exciting that my children made me drive by it several times through the week just to see it. Adventure Island features roller coasters, bumper boats, putt-putt, and an arcade. Adventure Island is open daily in the winter and until midnight in the summer.
Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo
When you are looking for things to do in Gulf Shores, Alabama I'd be surprised if you thought a zoo at the beach would be any fun. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo does not disappoint. The zoo boasts more than 290 animals which include lions, tigers, bears, and more. My 3 year old really enjoyed the petting zoo, and my little girl had fun looking at the birds in the aviary. Admission for adults is $10 dollars, while children are $7 with children under 2 free.
Waterville USA
Why water parks at the beach are so popular I will never know, but my children had more fun at Waterville USA than they did at the beach. Waterville USA features slides for every age. Waterville USA is actually two parks in one with a Water Park and an Amusement park. The Amusement park is open during the off season and features roller coasters, arcades, and an inflatable arena. Price for the amusement park is free, while the water park costs $25 bucks.
The Track Family Recreation Center
The Track ranks high in my things to do in Gulf Shores, Alabama list because it features the best go kart racing at the beach. My family is very competitive, and we love to race. The Track offers hours of racing fun for just about everyone in the whole family. The Track is open late so you can go after the sun goes down. We really enjoyed this place and found our stay to last nearly 4 hours.
Tanger Outlet Center
Located about 9 miles north of Gulf Shores, Alabama, the Tanger outlet center in Foley is a cool place to go shopping for the whole family. There are plenty of shops for kids, including a great ice cream shop. I was surprised at the number of children actually walking around the outlet center. The Tanger Outlets make the list for things to do in Gulf Shores Alabama because of its appeal to teenagers. Bring plenty of money and make sure you have plenty of time. This is a great outlet center.
There are plenty of things to do in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Hopefully this list gives you something to plan before you get there. Enjoy!

I love the track, haha. Great article.
Really beautiful place & a great article to put it in the spotlight.
My parents celebrated their 50th anniversary at Gulf Shores. Really like it. Thanks.
fun stuff!
Sounds like fun!
All but the last one are great ideas. I would not cater to a teenager's "mall shopping withdrawal" on vacation!
Gulf Shores is our home away from home...love it down there. The alligator alley rescue up by Foley is another amazing place to visit! :)
Great ideas for family fun.
