Things I'm Thankful for in 2009

Krissy Hashek
1. EMPLOYMENT!- Remember when we were kids and in order to get us to eat our broccoli, our moms had to tell us that there were kids in Africa who didn't have any food. Well considering the times, we now have to quit complaining about our crappy jobs because there are people all over the world that are currently unemployed. Oh yeah, it pays the bills too.

2. An Education- Without my education, my employment as I know it would be dust. And for those of you that decided way back when that college wasn't your thing, the government is giving away grants for any adult that wants to go back to school. God bless America!

3. Facebook- As pathetic as it sounds; Facebook is my "type A" personality way of keeping up with all my friends. It's easier to use than a Blackberry and not as creepy as Myspace.

4. My Family- Who else would listen to my crazy rants about the economy, the stress of going to school and having a job, and still love me? Sometimes I think that my family doesn't have a choice but to love me, but when my mother sends a cute pink card to me when I'm away at school, I know they truly care,

5. My Car- because it still runs and hasn't had to be in the shop in awhile- knock on wood- Also, because I couldn't afford to replace it if it broke down.

6. My Friends- I'm thankful that these people put up with me at my worst so they can love me even more at my best. They are my support system and love my crazy, insane, sometimes out of control self. I've also learned that even though it's a dumb and cliché, to have a friend means to be a friend.

7. Chocolate- I don't care what you say, there is nothing better than a handful of M&M's or a bite size Reese's Peanut Butter Cup when you need to get away from the stress and anxiety of life. And for those of you on a diet, in moderation, rules were made to be broken.

8. John Mayer and Lady Gaga's new CD's- Two complete different sounds but satisfy me nonetheless. My John and Gaga playlist on iTunes has been on repeat and will be for at least another month.

9. This Is It- Although Michael Jackson is gone, this documentary will live forever. It's a perfect representation for everything the King of Pop was about. Whether you are a Michael fan or not, you are not human if this movie doesn't entertain you and make you appreciate the King's work.

10. Textsfromlastnight.com, Postsecret.com and Fmylife.com- If I need a pick-me-up and a laugh, I know exactly where to go,

11. God- Even when it seems that everyone and everything around me is going down, I know my God and religion will always be there for me.

12. Sunday- Whether it's to recover from the night before, catch up on work, or catch up on sleep, Sunday is like a gift. Advice: don't waste it.

13. My Flaws- Gotta hate 'em before you love 'em. Embracing my flaws has made me realize my uniqueness and made me love myself even more. Plus, my boyfriend loves them too.

14. My Health- I'm glad I'm healthy during all this healthcare nonsense. I also have genetics to thank for this.

15. Today- we'll never get it back, make it the best day of your life.
