The Adventureland Park is a great place to ride a rollercoaster or a carousel. You can also bump around in bumper cars, ride a train, or splash around on one of the many water rides. There are tons of attractions where you can play miniature golf, arcade games, lazer tag and other exciting activities. A few of the best places in town include Tokens Inc. Family Fun Center, Playground for Kids, and Sleepy Hollow Sports Park. Another way to be amused is to take a ride on the amazing Heritage Carousel, which is full of many great exotic animals.
Water Parks
Des Moines offers several places to take a dip in town. If you're looking for adventure, then the Valley View Aquatic Center is the place to be. You'll find tons of water slides and diving boards. You can relax in the lazy river or play around in the leisure pool. The Holiday Aquatic Center is also a nice place to have some wet fun. At this park, you will find swimming pools, giant slides, and much more. This park has fields where soccer, baseball, and softball can be played.
Museums and More
There are also several attractions where you can have fun but take some knowledge with you as well. The Des Moines Botanical Center has many programs for children to enjoy. They offer scavenger hunts and a variety of programs where they can learn about plants and their importance. There is also an opportunity for them to plant seeds and take a plant home with them. The Science Center of Iowa offers many hands-on exhibits that teach you about motion, bubbles, the universe, and the science that surrounds them. This science center is home to three theaters which 3-D shows, a planetarium, and live performances.
The Blank Park Zoo is home to many endangered species. Among the many zoo animals, you will find lemurs, giraffes, tigers, and camel. Children can enjoy playing at the playground or exploring at the Kids' Kingdom. Camel rides are also available for your enjoyment. This zoo offers many programs where children can learn about the many animals from around the world.
