There are certain things that make the Labrador one of the best breeds of dogs. The temperament of the Labrador is one of its best characteristics. Labradors generally love people especially children. If you have children, the Labrador could easily become their best friend.

Labradors love to tag along people. They like to accompany you wherever you go. Since they are retrievers, you ca expects your do to bring you whatever things it will recover from your yard or those lying around your house. If you happen to lose something a couldn't really remember where you put, as long as your dog could carry it in its month your dog in bound to bring that something you have lost.

Labradors do not make good guard dogs because they are very friendly would tend to welcome strangers. In fact, the Labrador will rather lick someone than hurt him or her. The Labrador is not a highly excitable dog and will not really react much to strange sounds and occurrences. Sure it will bark to warn you about something but it will not really make any aggressive moves so it is not really effective when it comes deterring strangers and intruders.

Labradors are very good hunting companions because they have the drive to retrieve things for their masters. If you happen to be hunting near a lake and the prey would fall in the water, expect your dog to go after the prey and retrieve it for you without a second thought. Labradors are very good swimmers so there is really do danger of your dog drowning when retrieving something in the water. In fact, Labradors love the water and would be happy to go into the water anytime they have the chance to. Labradors have hard outer coat that will help them repel water so it will not really feel so cold when swimming.

Generally, it is very easy to fall in love with the Labrador dog. They have this clean cut and somewhat broad head with hanging ears that are simply adorable. Their expression is always alert and intelligent. They could also be great clowns and love to be given treats. Since they grown to about the same level as a regular coffee table, they have this habit of swiping some of your food from the coffee table. In fact, if you leave some food on the coffee table, expect that when you come back, your dog have licked the coffee table clean!
