Things Men and Women Should Never Wear on a First Date

You'll want to make a good first impression on your first date. One way to make an impression is in the way you dress. There are some things you should never were on a first date.

Here is a list of several things you should never wear on a first date.

Short mini skirts. If you're a woman looking to impress a guy on the first day, skip wearing a short skirt. If you want to wear a skirt, make sure it's long enough to cover your thighs, but short enough where he can still get a glimpse of your legs. Leave some things to your date's imagination.

Hoodies. Guys, it may be your usual style to throw on a hoodie, but a first date is not the place for that. It looks way to casual and as though you didn't put any thought on consideration into impressing you date.

Too much jewelry. Men and Women, you don't have to wear a lot of jewelry to impress you date. He or she should be getting to know the real you, not how much in material possessions you appear to have. Wearing too much jewelry can make you look materialistic.

Sweatpants. Even if your first date is an athletic one, such as a sports game, it's best to avoid wearing sweatpants. Wearing sweatpants on a first date makes you look lazy. If you must dress relaxed, wear a comfortable pair of jeans instead.

Low cut tops. Women, men do not have to see your cleavage on the first date. If you have a nice chest, men can tell even if you are covered up. Show some modesty and don't wear low cut tops on the first date. You wouldn't want to appear too easy.

Super high heels. Ladies, you won't want to wear super high heels on your first date with a guy. Focus on being comfortable and getting to know your date. Super high heels can be painful and distracting. Also, if your date wants to surprise you with a fun activity, you may not be able to participate because you've got on uncomfortable shoes. If you wear heels on your first date, keep them at a modest height.

Too many bright colors. Some people like attention, but your date may not appreciate it if you wear too many bright colors on your first date. Depending on the outfit, it could make you look like an attention hound.

Very good tips! I like what you said about not wearing short mini skirts and leaving "some things to your date's imagination."
