Weights are something that metal washers are good for, no matter what size they are. They can be used to weigh down draperies, especially if you have decided to make the draperies yourself. All you have to do is sew the metal washers into the hem of the draperies. This will cause the draperies to hang like they are supposed to. Also, metal washers can be used as weights on a fishing line if you do not have any fishing weights. All you have to do is loop the appropriate number of metal washers on the end of the fishing line. The number of metal washers used will depend on the depth of the water where you are fishing as well as the strength of the current. You can add or take off the washers to get to the correct feel to fish with.
Handmade jewelry is another project for metal washers. You will need monofilament line, which is fishing line, and several different sizes of metal washers. After gathering up your necessary supplies, decide on a design for the metal washers then tie them on the monofilament line. Now you have created your own piece of jewelry.
Do you need a way to turn that light on that is one your ceiling fan? Maybe you are tired of the string that hangs down from it moving every time you try to grab it. If so, then all you need to do is tie a metal washer to the end of the string. The metal washer will weigh down the string enough to keep it in place while you are reaching for it.
These are just a few of the many things that can be done with metal washers besides what they were designed to do. There are probably many more uses for metal washers that I have not thought of. If you know of some, feel free to add them below.
