Some people chose to sleep in an RV while others would rather spend the night in a tent. For those that opt for the second you'll need a durable and sturdy tent. Prior to leaving your home; actually I suggest a week prior; you should check the condition of the tent. Make sure that it is free from rips and tears, make sure that you have all the poles required to hold the tent in an upright position, and make sure that the zippers open and close with ease.
Sleeping bags and blankets should be taken with you so you won't have to sleep on the hard ground and blankets are a necessity. Even though the days will be warm temperatures may drop at night so it's important to have a covering in case that happens.
Food is essential when going camping so you'll want to prepare a list of what you will eat and on what day you'll be eating it. For instance on Saturday you'll be having cereal and fruit for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and for dinner hot dogs. If you plan out the menu ahead of time then you'll be prepared and this will prevent you from taking items that you don't necessarily need and things that you'll have to throw away. While planning the meals you'll also want to make sure that you stock up on drinks; especially water; lots of water. It's really easy to become dehydrated and the camp site may not have a store where you can purchase forgotten items. It's better to be safe than sorry so take an ample supply of water.
Coolers are also a necessity when it comes to camping. If you're planning on taking perishables you'll need a cooler to keep these items cold. If you're taking non-perishable items don't forget a can opener.
Cooking utensils should be taken with you; you can either take those that are disposable or if you are bringing an actual camp cooking set it will probably contain them.
Sunscreen will keep you from harmful rays and also keep you from getting sunburn; not everyone will take this because they don't usually burn but it's still important for your health.
Since many camping trips are taken in the spring and summer that's when the bugs become a nuisance so you'll want to bring bug spray so you aren't bit.
Finally; because accidents happen you'll want to make sure you're prepared in case there is an injury. Bringing a first aid kit will be beneficial if there is an actual incident. This kit should be checked a week prior as well.
There are more things that you should bring with you but these items are definitely necessary to make your camping trip safe and a success.

Post a CommentYou must take firewood. Some campgrounds will not allow you to go around and take downed wood for a campfire and camping is not camping without a campfire and roasted marshmallows.
