Things that Piss Me Off

5 Little Things to Ruin My Day

Don Peysum
Restroom Air Hand-dryers

I absolutely can't stand these things. After using the restroom and washing your hands, you search for a paper towel dispenser only to find there isn't one. Instead you find one of those air-dryers mounted to the wall. These dryers are absolutely useless. Besides being annoyingly loud, it takes them about 2 minutes to unsuccessfully dry your hands. Instead of actually drying your hands, air-dryers get them from wet to moist. For the love of God, public restroom owners, stick with the paper towel dispenser.

Passengers Who Have Long Phone Conversations on Car Trips

In addition to being rude, it's also extremely irritating. I can understand a short "check-in" sort of conversation but people who carry on long conversations in a car are ruthlessly annoying. For one thing, I don't want to hear their half of a conversation...I really don't. Unfortunately for me, in such an enclosed space it's difficult not to overhear. Plus, these "car-talkers" always want you to roll up the windows and turn down the music so that they can better hear the person they're talking to. I don't know about you, but I'm one who thinks the driver should be most comfortable on a car trip and, personally, I'd much rather hear what's on the radio than listen to my passenger talk for an hour about what he or she is going to do next weekend.

Traffic Jams That Happen for No Apparent Reason

Traffic Jams are infuriating enough as it is. Admit it, no matter how calm of a driver you usually are, traffic jams are enough to drive you mad. However. what's really annoying is when, after being stuck in 5 mph traffic for an hour or so, you reach the end of the jam and it just clears up out of nowhere. There's no accident, no road construction, no closed lanes, the traffic jam seems as though it materialized out of nowhere. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'd rather see a horrible accident at the end of a traffic jam, it's just that if I have to sit in nearly standstill traffic (especially in the summer heat), I'd like to at least know there was a reason behind it!

Finding SPAM in Your E-mail

I'm sure everyone has received spam in their e-mail at some point or another and can attest to how aggravating it is. I have to wonder why spammers continue to send random e-mails to people. Is it actually working? I mean, really...are there actually people out there who buy the products advertised in random e-mails from strangers or fall for the "You've won the lottery" scams I see so often? In any case, I get tired of having to sort through and delete SPAM while trying to read my actual e-mail.

Soda Machines That Eat Your Money

We've all been through it. It's a hot day. You're thirsty. You see a soda machine that tempts you with the promise of a tasty ice cold beverage. You whip out one of your hard earned dollars and struggle to get it into the dollar bill slot. You make your drink selection and...nothing! You press the button again...still no delicious beverage! You look at the display only to find that the machine didn't register your dollar or maybe it did but failed to dispense your drink for some mechanical reason. At this point you have three options: go through the trouble of finding the owner of the machine to refund your dollar, risk another buck and try again, or walk away thirty. No matter which you choose, it's far more annoying than just putting the money in the machine and getting your drink without any problems.

I totally agree, but I've found relief for the traffic jam. . . masterbation; it's a great way to pass the time and relieve the frustration! As far as the people who talk on the phone. . .you should check out an article I wrote called "5 types of annoying callers." Let me know what you think.
