Things to Remember About Your Weight

Aaron Conor
In this day and age of excessive eating, many people are concerned about their weight. However, be sure that you don't overreact if something doesn't seem correct. Everybody is different.

Weight Fluctuations -

Say you weigh a hundred and twenty pounds when you weigh yourself in the morning; however, in the afternoon, you weigh a hundred and twenty-two pounds. Have you soundly just put on two pounds? Nope. What happened was that you probably ate or drank something sometime during the morning or afternoon hours.

You gained that extra two pounds because that food and drink is still inside of you. And don't forget about your clothing. If you wear anything heavy, then that can add to your weight as well. For example, a pair of steel toe boots can add between three and five pounds to your weight. Even jeans can add around a pound to your weight in some cases.

BMI -

Your BMI (body mass index) supposedly tells you whether you are underweight, normal, overweight, or obese. However, it's not always that accurate. You have to remember that people have different body types. So a body builder who has a high BMI is probably fine. They weigh more because of their muscular build; not because they're obese. To check your BMI, go here.

Lose Weight Safely -

To lose weight safely, you just need to change your diet and exercise habits. Instead of having eggs and bacon for breakfast, just have some yogurt and V8 juice. You also don't have to give up the foods that you love, just eat less of them. Portion control works great. Stop drinking so many soft drinks; they not only damage your teeth, but they also cause you to gain weight. Instead of drinking four sodas a day, just try having two per day.

Then continue to lessen your soda intake until you're satisfied with your diet plan. And don't forget to exercise. You can walk, run, play frisbee with the dog, take up martial arts, ride a bike, do some chores; etc. And if all else fails, you should probably see a doctor. It could be that there is something physically wrong with you. You never know, you might have a tumor or something growing inside of you.

Also, keep in mind that it will take time to lose your weight. Depending on how hard you push yourself, you could see changes within a few weeks to a couple of months. Either way don't go back to your old eating and exercising habits, or you will just gain the weight right back.

So remember not to freak out if you have sudden weight changes. It could be that you've gained some weight, or it might only be your breakfast sitting in your stomach.
