I can't remember the last time life made sense
But I can remember the last display of kindness from a friend
I can't recall the last certificate of achievement I earned
But I can tell you about the important life lessons I've learned
I could not list all of the tangible gifts I have received
But I can reflect on the times when I needed to believe
I've lost count of how many times I've fallen short of success
But I remember those who supported me through each test
Some things and people you never forget
And some memories dissipate with little regret
What we truly value lingers in the heart and mind
These are the things that stay with us for a lifetime
