The façade of beautiful foliage especially during the fall seasons adds to the beautiful natural environment while tackling the rapid. This facility is open from 9AM to 54PM and there are lodging nearby where you can stay and rest if preferred.
2. Flower Memorial Library
Learn something about the city of Watertown with an exciting tour in this library. The historical edifice is located at 229 Washington Street Watertown, NY. Open throughout the year, it will amaze you with excellent architectural works, paintings and the open National Historic Register. Operation schedules are Mondays from 9:15AM to 9PM while Tuesdays until Fridays from 9:15AM to 5PM.
3. Hudson River Rafting Company
Friends and groups can experience a word class Black River water rafting with trained and licensed guides. A shuttle from the facility to the river lets you relax before and after the fighting with the rapids. It operates during spring and fall season weekends. In July it is open from Wednesday to Sunday, in August it operates Wednesday to Monday. Conveniently located at 424 Newell Street, Watertown, NY, you will not miss it.
4. Jefferson County Historical Society
At 228 Washington Street, Watertown, NY. Explore and learn more about the city from a collection of artifacts that depicts the art and history in Watertown. Take a peek at its rich history from Tyler coverlets to a variety of Native American art pieces including a 1910 Babcock automobile that was proudly Watertown-made. This 19th century mansion showcasing a Victorian garden is open for business the whole year. Operates from 9AM to 5PM from Monday to Saturday while in May until November, it opens on Saturdays as well.
5. Sci-Tech Center
Be amazed of this high tech facility that centers its programs on the children's development into science. It features a collection of 40 originally made science oriented exhibits from Watertown gifted children. Visit and explore this unique and interesting place on Tuesday to Saturday from 10AM to 4PM.
6. Thompson Park Conservancy and Zoo
Your family, foremost the children will enjoy in this animal paradise. Aside from catching sight on North American animals in their native and natural environment, this zoo-park also presents recreations facilities such as swimming pool, pick-nick grooves, walking trails and a sufficient playground where the entire family and a lot of visitors can relax and unwind. Visit One Thompson Park, Watertown, NY anytime of the year from 10AM to 5PM and on winter seasons at 10PM to 4PM.
