Usually being on the water will actually increase the suns reflectiveness and end up burning your skin more quickly if you are not careful so be sure to bring some sunscreen with you. The next thing that you should bring are some food and snacks. If you get hungry on the boat you should have something to eat and drink at all times.

You might also want to bring a fishing rod and tackle to go fishing. If you ever get stranded on the lake you will need an air horn to signal other boaters that you are in trouble and may need help. This is very important. If you are boating at night and get stranded, you should have a flare gun as well, to notify other people in the general area.

You are also going to need to bring life jackets on your boating trip. You do not want to be stranded out in the open without life jackets. If the boat were ever to sink or get tipped and you didn't have a life jacket you would be in for a big surprise and could probably even drown. If you are going to go on a boating trip, make sure that your bring along paddles, so that if you do get stranded, you can paddle your way to shore if need be. Make sure that you also bring a cell phone or some sort of radio to alter other people if you get stranded on the water.
