Things to Do on Thanksgiving Eve, November 23

Bill Hanks

One of my favorite days of the year is Thanksgiving eve. Before the family arrives the next day for Thanksgiving, my wife and I like to spend quality time together. Many businesses like to shut down early. It is also one of the most traveled days of the year. This article provides some suggestions on what to do, while you wait for everyone to arrive.

Movies; Here is a list of possible movies to take in at your local cinema. J. Edgar, Harold and Kumar's 3D Christmas, Immortals, Jack and Jill, Happy Feet 2, The Twilight Saga; Breaking Dawn Part 1, Arthur Christmas and Tower Heist.

Eat Out; Many restaurants will run specials or even supply coupons for those wanting to eat out on Thanksgiving eve.

Bar Hopping; If you have a designated driver, you can meet up with old friends that are in town for the holiday. This is one of the biggest bar days of the year.

High School Sports; Many schools will run tournaments over this weekend. They like to start on Wednesday night with first rounds in basketball or wrestling. This is a great time to support your local teams.

Casino's; Casino's are not very active on this night. It is very easy to find your favorite machine to play.

Concerts; You might be able to find a local concert to attend. Concerts are a great way to relax before the holiday rush.

Home Cooking; If you are responsible for getting the meal ready for Thanksgiving, you could find yourself staying home. This could also provide some quality time with your spouse. You could watch a home video and have some snacks.

Put a Puzzle Together; This is an excellent time to work a puzzle. You can work at it during your free time, during the evening.

College Basketball; The NCAA season is well started. There are many games scheduled on this night.

The main idea behind Thanksgiving eve is to have a good time. The work week is over for four days. This provides time to relax and have some fun.
