Things I Wish Someone Would Improve

What I Would Change About My Favorite Products

Cassie Schmelz
There are so many inventions and products that I can't imagine my life without, like my cell phone or my DVR. On the other hand, there are several things that are great ideas, but could really use some improving. There are three things in particular I use with regularity, that are better than nothing at all, but are still really not that great.

Product I Would Improve #1: Fat Free Cheese

Cheese is delicious and it's a staple in most recipes. But, it's pretty fattening and bad for you. Luckily, there are several fat free cheeses on the market. Unfortunately, most of them kind of taste like poo. Even if you can get past the cardboard like consistency, it's almost impossible to melt. Now, why can't someone make a fat free chees that's delicious and melts just like regular cheese? If they did, I'd pay at least ten dollars a bag for it.

Product I Would Improve #2: The Diaper Genie

Although the folks who invented The Diaper Genie have their hearts in the right place, they didn't quite hit the nail on the head. While The Diaper Genie does get rid of some of the stink from diapers, it still smells pretty terrible when you lift the lid to put a new one in. It's also pretty disgusting to unload all of the accumulated diapers out of. Emptying The Diaper Genie is one of those chores that my husband and I always pull a "it's your turn" with because we both hate it so much. They either need to invent a way for babies to stop producing such disgusting waste, or a Diaper Genie that masks it better.

Product I Would Improve #3: Invisible Solid Deodorant

Invisible solid deodorant isn't as invisible as they would like you to believe. It is better than regular solid, but you can definitely still end up with skunk stripes on your black shirt. I could use gel deodorant, which really is clear, but I don't much like that mayonnaise-in-my-armpit feeling. Invisible solid deodorant either needs to be truly naked to the eye, or the name should be changed to "less chalky than regular solid deodorant". In the meantime, I'll keep plastering it on because it's the best thing available.

All complaining aside, even though there's room for improvement, the afore mentioned products do make my life easier just as they are. Maybe these, and countless other products, will never be perfect. But a girl's can dream, can't she?
