Things that Would Make Our Lives More Comfortable

Ideas that Someone Should Turn into a Profit

Damien Murphy
It seems to me that we have become a society that relies on a certain level of comfort to make it through our days. Though long long ago, many of the things that we have today that we "could not live without" did not exist, we truly do not know what we would do without them. It sounds like I might be knocking this, however, I actually have some suggestions for things that might make it a little bit easier for us to get that comfort we so seek.

Often times I think that I am the originator of a concept, but find out that someone has come out with it just a few months before I opened my trap about it. So if something I mention here is already out there, I apologize.

One of the things I am surprised that I haven't seen is a dispenser in public restrooms that sells toilet paper that isn't of the grade that every public restroom in the nation seems to "provide". I would think that this would be a big seller. For those of you who are like me, I don't like to have to sit down on a public toilet unless it is just Necessary. Sometimes that does happen though, and it would be nice to have paper to use in the restroom that isn't called toilet paper just because it is paper and happens to be on a roll next to the toilet. Seriously, is there anyone who sees this stuff and thinks that it is going to feel good against your skin? There are some things we really should not skimp on.

If they can sell condoms and other random products in public restrooms, why can't they sell something I can wipe with that doesn't need a warning on it about the abrasive affect it will have when it touches my skin. I have so much remorse for the ladies. Whether its 1 or 2, you have to use this stuff. Unless you carry around your own in your purse, and hey, if you do, more power to you. It's one less thing to worry about, and good for you for being nice to you. It's hard to imagine that some big company that makes skin-friendly toilet paper hasn't jumped on this idea. At most you need like, what, 6 or 7 sheets per visit? So they charge a quarter for 6 or 7 sheets of TP in a pouch, It will never seem like a rip-off to pay that 25 cents. At least it wouldn't to me.

The other thing I thought of, but don't have the drive to do anything with, is a chair, or rather a recliner, that makes starting to work out a more viable concept for overweight men and women. I'm a big guy and even going for a walk isn't such a great concept as something to do to start losing weight. When you have a bigger build, your inner thighs rub together and make this horrible, painful rash that really makes walking a not-so-fun concept. I mean, being a big guy, obviously walking to lose weight wasn't top on my list anyway, but then if it's painful too.... thanks anyway.

However, I think that some big company should come out with a chair that has one of those weight-pulley-system-thingies In it, inside the frame. It could have handles in front of the arms of the chair and above the headrest, and even make it so that the foot rest can allow you to put your feet behind it to do leg extensions. Since muscle burns fat, you could use this thing to build up a bit of muscle and burn some calories and get started on your road to health that way. As long as the chair is halfway comfortable, this could be a really useful piece of equipment. I mean, why not do a couple dozen curls while you're watching your television show, if your comfortable and it's that easy, right?

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Somebody should take this stuff and go make a fortune, and make life a little more comfortable for the rest of us. I could have been working out this whole time if someone had done it sooner.

  • Less discomfort in a public restroom
  • A viable concept for overweight men and women
  • Make some of us a bit more comfortable
A lot more of us would probably get in shape if we didn't even have to get up to do it.
