Things to Do When You're Dead

I know it sounds morbid but lets face we are going to be dead a whole lot longer then we're alive. So it's not a bad idea to have an afterlife plan in case we are given some say in the matter.

We spend our whole lives avoiding the thought of death even though it is all around us. Everyday we drive by cemeteries, read about death in newspapers and watch it on television but we somehow look past it whenever possible. And rightfully so, this is a planet for the living; abundant in vibrant imagery where all our senses celebrate existence.

Having had a near death experience myself and having personally been touched by the death of loved ones and friends, it's hardly something that can be avoided at all times.

I don't know may people who wouldn't want to participate in some sort of afterlife. I have never heard any one say "You know, I think I just want to die when I get old and that be the end of it".

Let's assume we'll be able to morph into ghostly translucent beings rather than chucking hot coals into a red hot blast furnace for eternity. Here are a few things you could do.

Visit your ancestors and see what characters contributed to the soul force you have become. If you go back too far, you might be shocked to learn who or what some of your ancestors were or amazed depending on what your philosophy and beliefs were like when you had a body.

Seek out God's presence and have a meaningful exchange of thoughts on purpose and being.

Find your heroes from history and thank them for letting you channel their positive energies and mold your personality.

See the universe. Contact your intergalactic travel agent and get the ins and outs on traveling down the universe's memory lane. Explore and try to figure out whether space is finite or infinite. Remember to allow extra time for the universe's construction, black holes, which can lead you of course and into another dimension.

But don't worry as you have all the time in the universe. And for now you have all the time in the world to not worry about trivial earthbound gravitational mind traps.

Maybe death is a lot like going to sleep at night and entering a dream state in a peaceful sterile calm, except this sleep state lasts a whole lot longer. Hey, don't we usually fight getting up in the morning? Extended sleep sounds like the way to go!

Perhaps the most important thing we don't want to do when we're dead is to look back on unfulfilled lives where everyday meaningless events consumed our time and tricked us into thinking they were important.
