This morning I purchased a Sunday paper from Walgreen in Rochester, NH. The paper was unusually light with very few inserts and fliers. I checked out the paper prior to leaving the store and discovered coupon booklets inside pleased until I got home, where I found out the coupon booklets only contained Proctor and Gamble's coupons, and barely any grocery's coupons.
Yesterday I signed up for a subscription to NH Union Leader's Sunday paper only for $1 each for 26 weeks. I would in turn receive a $10 gift card. $26 dollars for 26 weeks said the salesman and you'll receive the Walgreens gift card to use at any of their locations. I ended up spending $36 dollars and that included the gift card purchase which I was suppose to get free, which I've realized this morning that I wasn't a smart shopper. Give yourself time to think about it before signing up, I learned my lesson. If a business is hurting for business you'll see them almost everywhere to get you signed up, and that could mean their business isn't worth investing in.
I have just read from online sources that The Dollar Tree stores carry Sunday paper for only $1, but you'll need to buy something else to help maintain the stock. Also the Dollar Tree's paper might not have the coupons or that the coupons might have been removed.
It is true what other people say that you can save with coupons, but however, realize this. If you're trying to eat healthy make sure you include real unprocessed foods. A lot of those coupons in a way are like a gimmicks enticing you to keep their businesses running. Coupons are like treats to all the junk food from manufacturers. Don't get me wrong I like junk food.
